Quiet luxury:
This understated movement has captured everyone’s imagination in recent times. In the realm of home decor it features quality pieces, with layered textures and fabrics, with a focus on quality rather than quantity. Certain fabrics like velvets, can help achieve this feel and are available in a wide range of beautiful colours. Velvets are often very durable and hard wearing, despite their luxurious feel and look. Investing in quality handcrafted furniture is, in the long term very cost effective. This is especially true here at Delcor, you can have your furniture updated in the future, just as generations of our customers have continued to do so. When you purchase furniture at Delcor, you are choosing pieces that are built to last a long time. Solid hard wood frames, so strong that we happily guarantee them for 50 years.

Retro revival:
Mid-Century styling is still so popular and fits well with the current Autumn trends featuring echoes of the 1970s. Modernist vintage furniture like classic G Plan and Ercol cabinet furniture can give that styling to your room. Delcor has been handcrafting furniture since 1967, we innovated during the 1970s with modular furniture and the latest styles at the time. Today we have several styles of corner sofas and chaises that echo these mid-Century designs. Choose your style such as the modernist Metro corner unit with its metal legs and slim angular arms, styled from our Sundance sofa-one of our designs from the 1970s. Or why not try our newest design; the Magnum corner unit-combining Knole styling with modern comfort and design. Whichever style you choose you can then decide which configuration you would like from a variety of unit sizes.
Colours for Autumn:
Earthy natural tones are here for Autumn. from rich terracotta to the warmth of ruby reds and crimsons. Style these colours with other natural Autumn shades like gold, russet and bronze. Rich tones of brown also echoing the 1970s shades can be used in fabrics or with vintage cabinet furniture. If you are not confident to use the stronger colours in a large area why not use them as scatter cushions or for a feature chair or footstool? Then use natural lighter tones on your larger pieces of furniture.

Ultimately it’s really worth the extra effort to achieve the look and feel you want.
Corner units-remember you can create a configuration that is perfect for you and your home. Choose from one of our four styles and then choose the size of unit and the corner or chaise. Ideas for interior schemes:
Colour drenching is a wonderful way of creating a cosy space. Continue your colour choice for all walls and ceiling for a rich enveloping feel. Creating faux paneling can add character and style to your rooms. Adding the interest of heritage prints to your scheme via curtains and drapes or beautiful plumped generous scatter cushions perhaps? William Morris designs continue to inspire, especially finished in modern colours. For more beautiful designs try Linwood fabrics or Designers Guild. For fabrics: joining velvet for a key fabric is boucle, the soft cosy textures are ideal as a foil to the rich smooth velvets.
Use lighting creatively to add light and shade to your scheme. Metallic finishes like copper and bronze work well with Autumnal colour palettes.
Choose new artwork, pictures and wall art, or move existing pieces to revive them and update your room.
Mirrors always add an extra dimension to a room, bouncing light and giving the illusion of space. Choose metallic frames or wooden tones for a more natural look.
